About

Returning for its second year, Pride in the Port 2024 was held on Saturday 7th September in Newport City Centre. The event featured a Pride Parade departing from Friar's Walk at noon, followed by performances on High Street and Bridge Street stages, children's arts and crafts activities at The Place, and community stalls on High Street and Griffin Street. Registration for parade participation closed at midnight on Thursday 5th September. The event is part of Pride in the Port's broader ten-day Pride Festival celebrating LGBTQIA+ culture and community.

    Pride in the Port Parade

    Main pride parade departing from Friar's Walk at 12pm, with registration closing at midnight the previous day. Participants are asked to arrive no later than 11:30am.

    High Street Stage Performances

    Live performances showcasing local and LGBTQIA+ talent on the High Street stage.

    Bridge Street Stage Performances

    Live performances showcasing local and LGBTQIA+ talent on the Bridge Street stage.

    Children's Arts and Crafts Zone

    Interactive arts and crafts activities for children during Pride celebrations.
