About

Pride in the Port is Newport's annual LGBTQIA+ celebration, founded in January 2022 to provide a community-led Pride event in the city centre. The event features a vibrant parade, live performances on multiple stages showcasing local and LGBTQIA+ talent, children's arts and crafts activities, and community stalls offering connections and support services. Beyond the main day, Pride in the Port organizes a ten-day Pride Festival with diverse events including sober socials, LGBTQIA+ book discussions, and film nights, all aimed at championing LGBTQIA+ wellbeing, education, and culture across Newport.
