The Halifax Pride Festival is an annual 11-day gathering in the Halifax Regional Municipality for the 2SLGBTQ+ community. It features over 150 community and Pride organized events celebrating the history, culture, activism, and perseverance of the queer community. The festival welcomes upwards of 50,000 participants every summer. Halifax Pride began in 1988 with the city's first Pride March, organized by members of the gay and lesbian community as a protest over the lack of legal protections from discrimination.

The 2026 Halifax Pride Festival runs July 16-26, 2026, featuring over 150 community and Pride-organized events. The Halifax Pride Parade takes place on Saturday, July 18th at 12:00pm. Some official Halifax Pride events are ticketed to offset rising costs, with tickets available through tixr.com/halifaxpride and the Online Festival Calendar (launching in June). Most events are free to attend.
